Tyrone Mings has been injured for Aston Villa all season long, but now he has provided an update which fans aren’t happy with.
Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings picked up an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury on the opening day of Villa’s Premier League campaign.
The injury is expected to rule him out of featuring again this season as it tends to entail at least nine months of recovery, the worst start Unai Emery could have wished for.
Mings’ injury updates have been fairly slow given the severity of the injury however finally he has broken his silence with an Instagram post.
Mings wrote “Grateful for all your support. I’ll share an update with you all later today” with a picture of him sitting in contemplation.
This announcement of a later announcement has got fans concerned and many have admitted they’re dreading it on social media…
Fans ‘dreading’ Mings update
Taking to X, many fans have voiced their worry over the update Mings will be revealing later today.
One fan wrote, “I’m dreading the Tyrone Mings update. He’s everything you want in someone that represents the club both on and off the pitch.
“I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a positive update and that he’s on the road to being back out there playing at the level he helped so much to achieve.”
Another wrote, “That Tyrone Mings update later today is going to hit us all in the feels”.
A third also agreed, writing, “If the update from Mings isn’t a positive update and he informs us of the one thing we are dreading it will genuinely ruin my whole year. I FEEL SICK”.
Tyrone Mings contract situation
Mings still has over two years remaining on his contract at Villa which is worth a whopping £100k-a-week.
This equates to over £12m for the remaining period of time. At 30 years old, it is probably the last big contract he will get which explains the concern over his update.
