One Aston Villa youngster is set to give Unai Emery a headache as he continues to produce eye-catching performances out on loan.

Villa finally put an end to their poor form on Wednesday night as they saw out a 3-1 victory over Brentford.

Many of the Villains performed exceptionally well with Boubacar Kamara receiving high praise

On top of this, many of the club’s youngster are also playing their best football of their careers out on loan.

Now, one former ex-Barcelona man has been labelled as ‘one of the stars of the season’ which could force Emery’s hand in January.

A player who has regularly been hitting the headlines in League One is Villa youngster Louie Barry

The numbers the attacker has been putting up in the third tier have been remarkable as he continues to thrive on loan at Stockport County.

So far this campaign, Barry has netted 14 goals in 19 games in all competitions with the Hatters currently sitting fifth.

As a result, Emery has considered recalling Barry in January with the third tier proving to be a walk in the park for the ex-Barcelona man.

Now, Sky Sports pundit David Stowell has highlighted Barry as one of the ‘stars of the season’ after he named him in the League One Team of the Season so far.

He said: “You’ve got to include this guy in the team, he’s been an absolute star – it’s Louie Barry. He can play left, right or middle. You can pick him where you want to pick him to be in there.”

It is clear that Barry is performing well-beyong the standards of League One. The 21-year-old has made scoring goals look easy in a team that was non-league just a few seasons prior.

However, the January window could prove to be the most pivotal in Barry’s development.

By recalling the attacker, he could miss out on a 30+ goal season and another promotion campaign.

Yet, if Emery opts to play the youngster at Villa for half a season or even loan him out to a lower Premier League side, it could do wonders for his development.

A loan to the Championship could also be on the table but that also comes with a risk.

Hopefully, as January edges closer, it becomes clear what Barry’s fate is.
