Aston Villa have only lost one game in all competitions this season and are going strong under Unai Emery.

The Midlands club are sitting in fourth place, four points behind leaders Liverpool and three behind second-placed Manchester City.

Oasis star Liam Gallagher is a boyhood Manchester City fan and he has watched his team win four record-breaking Premier League titles in a row.

Pep Guardiola’s side are also unbeaten in 31 league matches, last losing to Aston Villa last December at Villa Park 1-0.

Leon Bailey inspired Villa to victory against Manchester City on that evening and, at the time, made it a record-breaking 14 home wins in a row.

It was just a small glimpse of the epic job Emery has done at Villa, ever since he replaced Steven Gerrard in the dugout in 2022.

But one fan went a step further when discussing Emery’s side, which Gallagher wasn’t having.

Liam Gallagher reacts to claim Aston Villa are better than Manchester City

The Oasis star claimed on social media that Manchester City are ‘the best team in the land’ and ‘the world’, after being asked if he supports Celtic or Rangers.

That’s when a fan proceeded to tell the 52-year-old that Villa are better than the champions of England, but he was having none of it.

‘Villa are better’, wrote a user called Rose, added with an expletive to which he responded on Twitter ‘give over’.

Unai Emery’s poor record against Man City

Aston Villa could prove Gallagher wrong by beating Manchester City again when the duo face off in December at Villa Park.

Funnily enough, it’s around the same time they faced each other last season, but it also allows Emery to improve his record against the champions.

From a total of seven matches, and whilst managing Sevilla, Arsenal and Villa, he has only beaten them once.

But now he has one of the best teams in England to change that record around because this Villa side, after last season, is getting stronger and stronger.
