One of Aston Villa’s brightest stars has been now told he’s becoming one of the most ‘frightening’ in the Premier League.

This season, many of Aston Villa’s young talents have contributed to their excellent start having claimed seven wins from their first eight matches in all competitions.

Jhon Duran is a prime example, with the 20-year-old scoring in wins over West Ham, Leicester City, Everton and Wolves to give him the best goal-per-minute ratio on the planet.

Duran even netted in Villa’s 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night, tucking away his controversial penalty into the corner.

The Colombian’s talent is off the charts and he isn’t the only youngster who has made a flying start this term.

Morgan Rogers is one of the Premier League’s most ‘frightening’ talents

Signed from Middlesborough for £15 million in January, Unai Emery has unearthed a gem in Morgan Rogers, who is on his way to becoming an England international.

The 22-year-old was rested in Villa’s win on Tuesday night but he’s started every other game as a number 10, recording his first two assists of the season in the comeback win over Wolves last weekend.

Rogers – who has been lauded as ‘unplayable’ by Jamie Redknapp – is such an important player in Emery’s system.

Villa’s source of creativity through the middle and the one who possesses the pace and upper body strength to carry the ball long distances, the Englishman is becoming one of the most ‘frightening’ players in the Premier League.

That is an assumption shared by Aston Villa journalist Dan Bardell, who believes Rogers is on the verge of an England call-up.

Speaking on the Off The Ball podcast, Bardell said: “Now you watch him, and he’s just frightening because of the sheer size of him. He’s a brute force when dribbling with the ball but the close control and the fact he can bypass players and leave them behind, they’re almost bouncing off him.

“He’s just such a unique player; can play as a number 10, wide left and he is one of the first names on the team sheet. And he can’t be too far away from an England call-up as well, and it again just shows what this manager does for the football club because there isn’t really a player in his time at Villa that hasn’t improved.

“Rogers has improved immeasurably already and I also think he’s got another couple of levels to go, so it’s really really exciting.”

Unai Emery uses Aston Villa blueprint on Morgan Rogers

From a player regarded as a Championship level talent to one of the most exciting to watch in the Premier League, it’s been some journey for Rogers across the past nine months.

He’s blossomed under one of the greatest managers on the planet in Emery, with the Spaniard honing his skillset in a similar vein to other players he’s coached.

Rogers is the latest talent Villa have poached from the second tier and he joins the likes of Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Emi Buendia; three players who have all improved immeasurably under the four-time Europa League winner.

To put it simply, Emery is incredible when it comes to man management and getting the best out of each player he works with, and that is why he’s achieved so much success.
