Concern for Unai Emery
Injuries have been a big issue for Aston Villa in 2024. Multiple players in the first team have been out on the sidelines but outages at the back have been the main issue. This has seen players such as Diego Carlos, Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres miss big moments this campaign.
As a result, at times, Villa have been weak defensively. This is particularly evident in set plays, with the side conceding two more goals from dead ball situations against Luton.
Looking at the situation, former player Stephen Warnock believes that is a ‘big concern’ for the Emery.

Ollie Watkins update
Watkins has not just been one of the best players for Villa this season, but he has been one of the best in the Premier League. This striker has found the back of the net 21 times in all competitions as well as collected 10 assists.
This has not only furthered calls for him to go to the 2024 Euros with England but to also start alongside Harry Kane.
Alan Shearer has led these calls believing that Gareth Southgate should do what he’s never done before with his England line-up.

Mark Bosnich claim
With the end of the season closing in, many are debating who has been the best player throughout the Premier League campaign.
Many will point towards Rodri, Phil Foden or Mohamed Salah. However, Bosnich believes it’s Watkins as he continues to light up Villa Park.
