From clean sheets to goalscoring, Aston Villa’s stars have made an impression during the international break, let’s take a look at how they’ve performed.
Unai Emery saw plenty of stars leaving Bodymoor Heath as they left for the international break this week. With that being said it has given some players some much-needed rest.
From England and France to Argentina and Jamaica, Villa are worldwide on international break. Let’s take a look at the standout performances.
Leon Bailey

Bailey started and scored as his Jamaica side managed to secure a win over Haiti in the CONCACAF Nations League group phase.
Despite having more possession, the home side couldn’t make it count. The Reggae Boyz managed to secure a 3-2 win, Bailey scoring the third on the night.
Emi Martinez

One of the most loved men in Argentina, Dibu just seems to get better and better. He kept another two clean sheets as his side maintained their 100% start to qualifying.
Against stern opposition in Paraguay and Peru, wins were never guaranteed. That being said, the world champions were able to brush them aside with very little fuss.
Ollie Watkins

Watkins loves a goal at Wembley for England. His first goal came against Ivory Coast and he grabbed another against Australia this week.
It was a blast from the past for Villa fans as Jack Grealish assisted Watkins to secure the win. The Three Lions also secured EURO qualification against Italy, although Watkins didn’t play.
There were also several other Villa men making appearances over the international break. These included:
- Jhon Duran- Played 15 minutes across two games for Colombia
- John McGinn and Boubacar Kamara featured as their sides confirmed a EURO place
- Matty Cash featured as Poland picked up a win and a draw
- Youri Tielemans picked up a much-needed 116 minutes over two games
