Youri Tielemans has came under fire from multiple pundits while on international duty for Belgium recently.
The 26-year-old has struggled since arriving at Villa Park during the summer.
Regular game-time has been difficult to come by for Youri Tielemans, this has led many experts of the Belgian national team to question his position in the squad.
The Aston Villa midfielder was fielded in the abandoned game which left both Marc Degryse who is a former Belgian forward, and former Anderlecht star Jan Mulder less than pleased.
This comes according to Het Laatste Nieuws who explain that Tielemans was picked ahead of two better options.

Tielemans criticised for his poor form
Degryse spoke openly about his view that Tielemans is in bad form and Belgium should look toward the future instead.
“Surprising. I even put both of them. Vermeeren and Keita, to the detriment of Mangala.
“They know each other and complement each other well, whereas Tielemans is going through a bad period. His past international matches have not been convincing.
“No, people are waiting for Vermeeren and Keita,” Degryse appealed.
Mulder on the Villa midfielder being slow
Jan Mulder was another who wasn’t impressed by Tielemans and hoped for a change.
“Vermeeren is in top form, has more class and is the more modern footballer.
“Not that Tielemans is old, but he is from the previous generation. Things are a little slower for him,” Mulder explained.
