Aston Villa fans were left seriously impressed by the performance of Youri Tielemans after Unai Emery’s men clinched an easy win over Young Boys.
Aston Villa secured a 3-0 victory over Young Boys on Tuesday night as they marked their return to the Champions League in style.
The Villans made a slow start in the match but opened the scoring through Youri Tielemans inside 27 minutes after a well-worked set-piece.
Unai Emery’s men then doubled their lead shortly after as Jacob Ramsey pounced on a calamitous error in the Young Boys’ defence to slide the ball home.
Ollie Watkins should have had his name on the score sheet but Rio Ferdinand was left bemused that Watkins goal was disallowed due to handball.
Jhon Duran then replaced Watkins on the hour mark after suffering a suspected injury before Amadou Onana made sure of the three points with a stunning strike, starring alongside his Belgian teammate once more.

Youri Tielemans statistics vs Young Boys
With each passing game, it’s becoming more clear that Youri Tielemans has filled the void that the departing Douglas Luiz left behind.
The 27-year-old – who was signed on a free transfer last year – is becoming one of the first names on the team sheets for Emery.
That claim was reinforced further on Tuesday night, as Tielemans was exceptional in midfield as he grabbed a well-taken goal and pulled the strings in the middle of the park.
As per Sofascore, the Belgian maestro recorded 93% of his passes, won five ground duels and two tackles across his 87 minutes on the pitch.
Tielemans was incredible in and out of possession, as his superb ball-playing attributes were married to his ability to win the ball back and that created a perfect recipe.

Aston Villa fans react to Youri Tielemans performance vs Young Boys
To make Tielemans night even sweeter, he was awarded Man of the Match for his near flawless display and the majority of Aston Villa fans agreed with that decision.
Reacting to his performance via X, many fans are still left speechless that Villa managed to sign the Belgian on a free transfer following his release from Leicester in 2023.
“He may have taken a couple of months to settle at the beginning of last season, but he absolutely runs the show now. Unbelievable business getting him on a free,” one supporter said.
“How did we get this man on a free! Immense every week,” another agreed.
“Almost everyone was good. But Rogers and Youri were excellent. Getting him for free is one of the biggest steals in our history,” a third responded.
Some fans also agreed that, on current form, Tielemans is quickly making Villa forget about the departure of Luiz to Juventus.
“Youri Tielemans makes Dougie seem a distant memory, he’s has been sensational,” one fan said.
“Tielemans is more combative than Luiz. Offers more for me,” another responded.
The supporters are right; the fact that Villa paid nothing to sign Tielemans is nothing short of sensational business and the fact he’s entering the prime of his career is a scary thought for the opposition.
Emery’s midfield maestro will hope to continue his scintillating form in the clash against Midlands rivals Wolves on Saturday.
