Richard Keys has praised Unai Emery following Aston Villa’s win over Arsenal. The Spaniard’s reaction at full-time was picked up on by the pundit.

It has been a perfect week for Aston Villa following wins over Manchester City and Arsenal in back-to-back home games.

In a record-breaking set of wins, Unai Emery was able to continue his side’s excellent form at Villa Park. This was with a fifteenth consecutive win in B6.

These wins saw Villa cement their place in third place in the Premier League and firmly in the Champions League spots.

With so much riding on the game, you wouldn’t begrudge the fans, players and manager for being in a celebratory mood. Captain, John McGinn has already banned conversation of the title and Emery has been praised for his reaction…

What has Richard Keys said about Unai Emery?

Former Sky Sports presenter, Richard Keys has discussed Villa in his recent blog post and praised them for their results.

On his website, Richardajkeys.com, Keys said: “I thought the win over Arsenal was the more impressive. Villa were really good the night they beat City. The champions couldn’t handle them, but they had to dig in to wrestle the three points off Arsenal. It was a very different win.”

Against City, Emery’s Villa dominated and were well deserving of all three points. Against the Gunners, they dominated for the most part but the Villans held on to their 1-0 win. Despite Kai Havertz almost scoring, they didn’t trouble Emi Martinez too much in general.

The win was reacted to with deafening chants and cheers as the players made their way around the stadium. With that being said, their manager wasn’t for sticking around to take in the atmosphere.

On that, Keys added: “And what a dignified celebration Unai. Just a fist pump – and a walk to the tunnel, where he later shook hands with everyone on the Gunners‘ coaching staff. That’s the way to do it. The Celebration Police were very impressed.”

In typical Emery fashion, it isn’t time to celebrate until the job is done. This only comes when the season is over, like against Brighton last season. After Europa Conference League qualification was secured, then he let his hair down and celebrated with fans.

It must be said that this shows his mindset and potentially how high his goals are set for the club. With the progress in the last 12 months already, who knows where he could take the Villans?
