Aston Villa travel to Goodison Park to face Everton this weekend as they return to Premier League action. There is good reason to suggest that Jacob Ramsey should keep his place in the side.
Last time out, Aston Villa faced Middlesbrough in the third round of the FA Cup looking to secure a place in round four.
Thanks to a deflected Matty Cash strike late in the day the Villans won 1-0 and moved on in the competition.
Now they return to Premier League action and Unai Emery will be hopeful of maintaining his side’s great form this season.
Games against Everton have gone well ever since promotion from the Championship as Villa haven’t lost a league game against them.
Earlier in the season the Villans came away with an easy 4-0 win against a struggling Toffees side. It must be said that they are a different outfit now and will pose a difficult opposition.
With that being said, there is one man who should start to help contribute to a hard-fought win at Goodison Park.

Jacob Ramsey should start v Everton
It has been a tough campaign as a general rule for Jacob Ramsey. Following an injury on England duty, he missed the majority of the season so far.
He is now back and is playing his part in the Villa starting XI once again and he is looking to return to full match sharpness.
Toward the end of last season, Ramsey was in terrific form and had become basically undroppable. This came with big goals against Newcastle United and Liverpool in the run-in.
This promoted Give Me Sport to say: “I’m surprised there’s not been more made of Jacob Ramsey. He’s a very good prospect. I think he will be integral to Villa’s project. Even now, I think he’s a £50m player. I do rate him very highly.”
Following his return in recent weeks, he has taken some time to acclimatise back to playing Premier League football. Against Boro, he appeared to have gotten better once again.
According to FotMob, the Englishman featured in the full 90 minutes and was good defensively and going forward.
This saw him win four tackles and make nine defensive contributions overall. On the flip side, he had 100% success rate for long balls as he created three chances for his teammates on the night.
There is no doubt the work rate that Ramsey has which will make him beneficial to be starting against Everton. This is because their fullbacks often like to push forward in support of their wingers who like to get crosses in.
His defensive ability paired with his progressive carry ability will make Ramsey a useful asset against the Toffees
