Former England goalkeeper, Ben Foster has made his prediction prior to Aston Villa’s game away to Tottenham Hotspur.

It is safe to say that it has been a great start to the season for Aston Villa. Nothing shows this more than their winning home run, the best in the league.

One thing that has pulled Unai Emery’s side back in the Premier League is their away form. With losses against Newcastle, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, there are definite improvements to be made.

Going into the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Villans will be hopeful of a win to send them fourth.

There are some injury concerns for Villa with John McGinn one of the players to be tested ahead of the match. With that being said there has been some good news as Jacob Ramsey is set to return to the squad.

With all this being said, the Villa faithful are confident of a first away win since Chelsea in September. Although not everyone is so confident in Emery’s men.

What has Ben Foster said?

Despite being a former Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion star, Ben Foster typically speaks well of Villa.

Speaking on YouTube, the former England goalkeeper has been discussing and predicting the game this Sunday.

On that, Foster said: “It’s got a draw written all over it. Villa not as good as what they are at home, Spurs obviously those injuries are massive. I think the Spurs home crowd will (help) – a draw, yeah.”

There was clearly no doubt in his mind over the what the result will be as he suggested a draw. The loss to Forest has pained a picture of Emery’s side that they are poor on the road. Prior to that defeat, these opinions weren’t there so a win against Spurs will quieten down this opinion.

Continuing to force home that narrative, Mark Goldbridge added: “Villa are not good away, are they?”

Given that the Villans sit in midtable for points away from home, to suggest they are ‘not good’ is a bit much. What skews people’s opinions is that Emery’s men are so so good at Villa Park so everything else pales in comparison.

With the injuries and suspensions that are currently hampering Spurs, the Villa fans are hopeful of a win. Last time away at Tottenham the Villans won and there is no reason why this time round should be any different.
