Aston Villa goalkeeper and fan favourite, Emi Martinez has offered out a statement following the win over his former club, Arsenal.
In another excellent win, Aston Villa secured all three points against, at the time, league leaders Arsenal at Villa Park.
This followed an unbelievable win and performance as Unai Emery got one over Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.
These wins cemented Villa’s spot in the top four and put their name in the hat for the hotly contested Premier League title race.

With these wins, Villa maintained their amazing home form which has broken records every week that this run continues. 15 wins from 15 games is the most in the club’s history and is the best home start to the season for 90+ years.
The win has propelled the Villans even further into the limelight and discussions of a potential title race are in full swing. An Aston Villa star has made a statement on that…
What has Emi Martinez said?
It has been a great few seasons for Emi Martinez since he joined the club in the summer of 2020. He has gone on to win two international trophies including a famous World Cup triumph. While things haven’t been that good for Villa, his love for the club can never be questioned.
Following the full-time whistle, the Argentine kissed the Villa badge and showed his appreciation to the fans. ‘The World’s Number One’ chant rang around Villa Park as fans celebrated a win over his former side.
Since moving to B6, Martinez has always made his affection for the club clear and the fans have reciprocated that love. Even as his stardom has grown, such has been his impact on the international stage, he hasn’t changed on his opinion for the club.
This is shown even more following a post on X. Following the win, Martinez said: “We’re not just here to take part…”
As Conor McGregor used to say, “We’re here to take over.” Given Villa’s form in recent weeks, the title race is in full swing. With the Villans currently sitting above treble winners, Man City, in third place, they aren’t far off Liverpool in first. Just two points separate Villa and the leaders, at the time of writing.
It was a wonderful win at Villa Park and to see the players so emotionally involved is great. Martinez is one of the fan favourites and with his performances in between the sticks, he is only going to become more popular.
