Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara react to Aston Villa’s stunning win over Arsenal

What a performance from Aston Villa at Arsenal!

Even with so many players out injured, including Douglas Luiz being suspended and Boubacar Kamara out for the season.

Aston Villa still managed to secure a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates to boost their top-four hopes and dent the London club’s Premier League title chances.

Make no bones about it, this was deserved and it was one of the most impressive displays under Unai Emery.

In fact, you could argue that it was the best performance under his stewardship, even better than that win over Manchester City at Villa Park.

Arsenal had a full-fit squad to pick from, Mikel Arteta was able to play his strongest XI, yet it was the complete opposite for Villa.

Where do you start? Jacob Ramsey, Tyrone Mings, Emiliano Buendia, Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara were all absent. All of them are starters, remember!

Therefore, this was a very impressive victory, with super sub-Leon Bailey and star striker Ollie Watkins getting the important goals.

Watching on from home, it certainly impressed Luiz and Kamara, who sent their messages via their social media accounts.

Kamara took to Twitter and wrote: ‘Proud of you guys. Keep pushing’, whilst Luiz posted on his Instagram story ‘Let’s go’ added with fire emojis.

Now for the Europa Conference League against Lille

No point doing a Tottenham by winning one week, and then shooting yourself in the foot the next.

Both of us have tended to do that this season, so this next week is going to be crucial, in that regard.

Before we face Bournemouth at home on Sunday, it’s a trip to France for the second leg of our Europa Conference League clash against Lille.

We may have a one-goal advantage, but they played pretty well at Villa Park and you expect them to score in the second leg, so we have to be at it again, if we want that semi-final ticket.
