Former Aston Villa man, Chris Sutton has suggested that Luton Town will struggle when they travel to Villa Park.

This weekend sees Aston Villa play host to Luton at Villa Park with the Hatters looking to secure their second Premier League win.

It is well-reported that Unai Emery’s side are unbeaten at home since February and they will look to keep that record alive.

With the last four matches finishing 4-1 in favour of the Villains, it is likely to be a tough test for Rob Edwards’ side.

With that being said, no opponent can be taken lightly and Villa will prepare as they do for any game.

What has Chris Sutton said?

Last time out, the Hatters came from 2-0 down to secure a point away at Nottingham Forest. Confidence will be high.

Discussing his weekly predictions on the BBC, the former Celtic star predicted a 2-0 Villa win.

On their comeback point, Sutton said: “Out of the three promoted teams, Luton are the ones who have surprised me the most so far.

“They showed they had a bit about them when they fought back from 2-0 down to draw with Nottingham Forest last week.”

It is true that it took a huge push to come back against a good Forest side which will give them confidence.

With that being said, with the form Villa find themselves in, they will back themselves against anyone they face moving forward.

Sutton agreed with this sentiment: “Fighting back for a point at the City Ground was a good sign but, let’s be honest, going to Villa Park is a much tougher task.

“Aston Villa are on fire, especially at home, and the goals they are scoring through Ollie Watkins and his link-up with Moussa Diaby makes them very hard to stop.”

Everybody is in top form in B6 and it will take a special performance for anyone to beat them at home.

European fixtures may take their toll on the Villains’ fitness but with the standards that Emery demands, he won’t have excuses.
