One Aston Villa star has been impressive in Unai Emery’s squad recently, with a new insight provided explaining what he is like away from action and most importantly, what his teammates think of him.

With Champions League qualification still firmly in their reach, Aston Villa will be hoping to end the 2023/24 campaign on a high.

The Villans have had a sensational season in the Premier League under Unai Emery, who has continued to raise the bar at Villa Park, making his squad one of the teams to beat in the top flight.

That being said, the manager will hope to see his side’s current form improve quickly, as the Villans have secured just one win in their previous five league matches, conceding 12 goals in what has been a tough few weeks.

Despite a dip in form, there have still been some electrifying performances on show in claret and blue, with January arrival Morgan Rogers being one of Emery’s most exciting players in recent showings.

What Morgan Rogers’ teammates think of him since joining Aston Villa

Despite the disappointing result against Brentford last weekend, it was a day to remember for Rogers, who netted his first goal for Villa and in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old, who signed from Middlesbrough in January for a fee of £15m, has had to be patient to show his worth to Emery, with his recent displays presenting exactly why Monchi decided to spend the money to welcome the attacker to Villa Park.

In a column for The Athletic, written by Jacob Tanswell and Mark Carey, insight was provided into just what Rogers’ Villa teammates think of the new arrival.

‘Off the field, Rogers is a confident and engaging individual. At Villa and with former teammates, he is well-liked and among the more open talkers to the media.’

It was then documented in the column that the Englishman is well-thought-of by the media too, for his ‘impressive’ demeanour when speaking to journalists at such a young age.

‘Despite the club’s reluctance to allow players to talk in the mixed zone after games (especially after a loss), Rogers is impressive and speaks with a wise head on young shoulders. It is why Emery openly pushes him, even if the player has exceeded early expectations.’

The only way is up for Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa

Having secured his first goal in style, Rogers has given Emery something to think about when it comes to selection in the future, with the Englishman initially being handed gametime to cover for the injured Jacob Ramsey.

In his absence, the 21-year-old has shown similarities in his game to Ramsey, providing Villa with the direct and energised spark that they have missed without having the Bodymoor Heath available for large parts of the season.

While the primary concern is that the player is conducting himself well on the pitch, it’s uplifting to learn that Rogers is also a well-liked person off the field by his colleagues and the media, telling of his maturity.
