Aston Villa are in the last stretch of the 2023/24 Premier League season and hoping to secure Champions League football after an outstanding campaign.

Whatever happens during these final few months, the job Unai Emery has done at the club is fantastic and you feel it can and should end on a high.

Of course, it would be amazing if he could guide Aston Villa to the elite and also possibly win the Europa Conference League.

What’s even better about all of this is the style in which Aston Villa have played and how the team have proved to be the masters of the offside trap in Europe.

Kyle Walker was speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents Five YouTube channel about high lines and how Aston Villa do it ‘the best’.

The Manchester City man added ‘their high line is ridiculously high’, but he made it clear that it does work.

Back in December, Leon Bailey-inspired Aston Villa secured a 1-0 win over the Treble winners, with Kyle Walker in the opposition, so he knows what it feels like to be on the other side of Unai Emery’s magic.

And the England international was nothing but complimentary towards his former side here.

Aston Villa’s high line

“I mean Aston Villa probably do it the best, their high line is ridiculously high,” said Walker.

“But it works for them and that’s what their manager wants. There is risk and reward.”

After the international break

It’s an all-Midlands affair against Wolves at Villa Park, with the team needing to get back to winning ways after dropping points in the last two.

The last time Villa were at home in the Premier League, it was a damaging 4-0 defeat to Tottenham.

If Villa want to go on a momentum charge, especially with Manchester City up next after Wolves, then we must win this game.

The games against the top three will sort themselves out. These are must-win and the team have to deliver if they want to secure that all-important fourth spot.
