Liverpool are reportedly keen on taking Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara away from Villa Park as they look to boost their midfield.

The Merseyside Reds have had an absolute nightmare this summer in their search for a defensive midfielder.

Both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo rejected a move to Anfield in favour of Chelsea, while Ryan Gravenberch and Sofyan Amrabat both prefer Old Trafford as a destination.

Therefore it seems daily that new names spike up regarding Liverpool’s midfield, with Wataru Endo from Stuttgart not thought to be enough.

Thus, Scouse heads seem to have turned toward a player who joined Villa for free just a year ago.

Liverpool target Boubacar Kamara

According to a report from FootMercato in France, Boubacar Kamara has risen up Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist recently.

It states that Liverpool want to sign Kamara “more than ever” as they look to complete a midfield rebuild.

This comes after the departures of; James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho this summer which left the midfield incredibly light.

Kamara if signed would be the fourth midfielder to join this summer, following Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai along with Wataru who signed today.

It is expected to be difficult to prise Kamara from Unai Emery’s grasp, however Liverpool don’t see it as impossible and would want to test Villa’s resolve.

The Villains are however expected to reject any approach for their Frenchman who has made 27 appearances for the club to date, after joining from Marseille.

He is regarded as a top and key asset by Emery and only silly money would even be considered for him to be sold.
