According to reports Philippe Coutinho is close to signing a deal which would take him on loan to Qatar playing for Al Duhail.

Aston Villa‘s attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been on the verge of departing over the last few weeks.

It comes as he clearly wasn’t in the plans of Unai Emery anymore ahead of the 23/24 season.

This was made evident by the acquisition of Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray on a season long loan.

The loan could see the Italian join permanently which leaves little room for the little Brazilian.

Therefore a departure does now seem to be imminent for Coutinho as he seeks game-time.

Coutinho to complete Qatar switch

The 31-year-old is now expected to complete his Villa Park departure in the coming days, with the Qatari window open for another 11 days.

Villa have been keen to get Coutinho off their books due to him being one of the clubs biggest earners, who has struggled fo fitness and form last season.

However with a permanent move viewed as difficult to complete, the next best option has been identified as a loan.

Therefore according to Express and Star, Coutinho is due to join Al Duhail on loan.

Hamstring injuries have plagued Coutinho’s time at Villa which has finally led Emery to having enough.
