Aston Villa are said to be looking into signing Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City as another drastic upgrade on their defence.
Aston Villa enjoyed a brilliant season last time out which resulted in Europa Conference League qualification.
Following that, Unai Emery has overseen a massive summer window with huge players coming in.
Pau Torres has came in defensively which instantly was a huge improvement on what we had currently.
Youri Tielemans also arrived on a free-transfer and has already shown his immense talent in midfield.
Lastly, Moussa Diaby has came in for a new club record fee and has made the left-wing spot his own already.
Now though, the biggest signing of all could potentially be about to accelerate.

Laporte to Villa
Aymeric Laporte has been tipped with a Manchester City departure this summer, especially following the departure of Josko Gvardiol.
This has left a whole host of clubs keen on acquiring the out-of-favour Spanish international defender.
According to The Mirror, Aston Villa are one of the clubs who are extremely keen on signing Laporte.
It is thought they will face still competition however from two London sides in Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
It is believed that City will ask for a fee of around £30million for the experienced defender.
Laporte has became out-of-favour at the Etihad and struggled to get game-time last season despite Pep Guardiola playing four centre-backs.
However despite being unwanted at City, at Villa Park Laporte would be a treasure and could if paired with Torres, combine to make an extremely solid defensive partnership.
