Nicolo Zaniolo is amongst the potential incoming transfer options for Aston Villa this summer.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Aston Villa have identified Nicolo Zaniolo as a potential target. The Villans are currently working on a deal to sign Thiago Almada. However, if an agreement can’t be reached for the Atlanta United playmaker, they will turn their attentions to Zaniolo.
Aston Villa have had a busy transfer window so far, and most recently announced the arrival of Moussa Diaby, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen. Unai Emery isn’t done adding to his squad though. The Spanish coach is working closely with the club’s new president of football operations, Monchi, to bring in a new attacking midfielder.
Whilst Almada appears to be the club’s first choice, it is easy to see why Zaniolo is being given serious consideration.

Who is Nicolo Zaniolo?
Zaniolo currently plies his trade for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, having joined the club in February in a £13 million deal that set a record for Turkish clubs. The Italian hit the ground running in Turkey, scoring 5 times in his 10 league appearances last season. He played a key role in helping the club secure the league title.
Zaniolo would be an interesting addition to Emery’s squad. The 24-year-old has bags of talent, and lots of top level experience garnered across spells with Roma and Inter Milan. He was part of the Roma side that won the Europa Conference League in 2022 – a trophy that Villa will be challenging for this season.
Zaniolo is versatile, creative, and has excellent physical attributes. He looks to have what it takes to make an impact in the Premier League. However, his arrival at Villa Park would raise even more questions about the future of Philippe Coutinho, who Emery recently insisted remains in his plans.
