Links to Crysencio Summerville to Aston Villa refuse to go away and now journalist, Paul Brown has discussed the potential January transfer.
With the January transfer window coming up, rumours linking stars to Aston Villa are rife with an opportunity to add quality.
It has been a great season under Unai Emery so far but there are areas which could be helped by some winter additions. Despite some recent poor results, there are still plenty of positives to be taken from this campaign.
With wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, Villa have thrown themselves into the limelight of a potential title race.
It must be said that the draw to Sheffield United and defeat at Old Trafford showed Villa’s creativity to be lacking at times. As a result, this January they have been linked to Crysencio Summerville after a great start to the Championship.

What has Paul Brown said about Crysencio Summerville?
It is safe to say that there are positions that Villa would benefit from signing. Whether this be a right back or striker, there is depth needed in various positions. Now they are being linked to young attacking midfielder, Summerville.
Speaking with Give Me Sport, Paul Brown has suggested that this position is something that the Villans are looking for.
On that, he said: “I think that wide forward position is one that he probably is looking at. It’s difficult to know exactly the profile of the player given the type of formation that Aston Villa have been playing and the roles that people like Bailey and Diaby have been playing. It’s tricky to find players that exactly fit into that.”
It must be said that Emery has plenty of depth in attacking areas with stars like Nicolo Zaniolo only managing 501 Premier League minutes so far. With that being said, a new and exciting signing in that area could prove effective. This sentiment was shared by Brown.
On that, he said: “Summerville, I find very interesting because I actually think he’d be a really good fit for Aston Villa and I think that this is going to be someone that could really make a name for himself in the Premier League within the right system.
“Obviously Leeds don’t want to hear anything about that right now, but it’ll be a difficult rumour to keep quiet I think in January.”
It is clear that this signing wouldn’t be easy and given the form that Leeds have been in and their expectations for the season, they won’t want their star to leave. If Villa can put in a tempting offer a move may be possible this winter.
