Aston Villa are poised to make a series of changes in the transfer window this summer, here’s how Unai Emery’s XI could look in 2024/25.
Unai Emery will be hopeful of retaining all of his stars of 2023/24 however, Aston Villa’s PSR concerns could see key players sold.
Several players have already been linked to both arrive and depart B6 before next season, with upgrades needed to replenish Emery’s depth.
Central midfield is an area that has been spoken about frequently ahead of the transfer window, with Douglas Luiz’s future heavily speculated and players also rumoured as potential incomings.
The defence is another area that could face change this summer, with there being a lack of depth at the back that needs to be corrected.
As speculation heats up and the transfer window prepares to open, here’s a potential XI Emery could line up with next season. It’s one we’d love to see with new signings and a fully fit squad.

Potential Aston Villa XI for 2024/25 including new signings
One area that is not braced for change this summer is between the posts, as Emi Martinez remains Villa’s firm number one and an integral member of the side.
The Villans welcomed Joe Gauci to the club in the January transfer window, with there hope that fans will get to see more of the Australian in 2024/25 however, Martinez will be the first choice without question.
The back line is where we could start to see change, with Emery’s favoured back four destined to be corrected even without a new central signing.
Tyrone Mings suffered an ACL injury on the opening day of last season, ruling him out for the campaign however, with the Englishman’s recovery almost over, he should return straight to the fold.
That is because Diego Carlos could be sold to ease PSR concerns, with Mings being the new partner for Pau Torres next term.

At right-back, Ezri Konsa will continue ahead of Matty Cash while at left-back, a new face could be introduced.
Aston Villa have been linked to Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso this summer, with the 28-year-old deployable both at centre-back and left-back and would be a strong replacement for Lucas Digne.
In midfield, the most significant change can be seen, as Douglas Luiz’s future is in jeopardy due to PSR.
The Brazilian could be sold this summer, which could see Conor Gallagher signed at Aston Villa, as the Englishman has been linked with a £50m move from Chelsea.

Gallagher would be the ideal replacement for Luiz, being a player with strengths going forward and being able to defend in the engine room too.
Joining the possible new signing will be Boubacar Kamara when he is fit to play, after the Frenchman suffered a season-ending ACL injury in February, seeing him ruled out until after the 2024/25 campaign commences.
Huge change should not be expected in the front line, as the attack was Villa’s strongest point over last term.
John McGinn could start on the left side while Morgan Rogers could usurp Youri Tielemans in the pocket behind striker Ollie Watkins, based on his electrifying form at the end of last season.
Leon Bailey will hope to go from strength to strength in 2024/25, after finally finding his feet in claret and blue during Emery’s first full season.
