When Aston Villa are expected to sign Jaden Philogene from Hull City
There has been plenty of speculation regarding Villa re-signing Jaden Philogene just one year after his departure from the club.
The Villans exercised their right to match any bid going in Hull City’s direction for the academy graduate, with Ipswich Town wanting to sign the winger.
Instead, it now looks as though a return to Villa is on the cards, with Fabrizio Romano sharing an interesting update.
According to the renowned journalist on X, the Midlands club will expect to complete the signing of Philogene this week, explaining that the 22-year-old is ‘on his way’ to Bodymoor Heath.
After completing a medical, which Romano explained will happen on Monday [15th July], the Villans will see the forward sign his contract to complete the deal.
It’s a superb piece of business by Villa and Monchi once more, with the club expertly exercising their right to re-purchase the youngster.
Philogene transfer is a stroke of genius from Monchi
After thrilling in the Championship last season at Hull City, this summer paved the way for Philogene to return to a Premier League club.
While Ipswich, Everton and Crystal Palace were said to have interest in the dynamic talent, it’s Villa who have a plan in place for the Englishman.

Emery is keen to have Philogene integrated into his squad after he showed his worth over the 2023/24 campaign away from Villa, contributing to 18 Championship goals in 32 appearances for Hull.
The Villans will now acquire a highly-rated and in-demand talent for a cut price as a result of their clever approach to allowing the forward to blossom on a loose leash last year.
This week is poised to be another busy period at Bodymoor Heath, as Villa prepare to re-welcome Philogene to B6 after a year away.
