Aston Villa are looking to poach one of the highest-rated talents in England right under Man United’s noses.

The summer transfer window is quickly approaching and Villa are seemingly already making plans for the new season.

Unai Emery’s side look set to play Champions League football at Villa Park next season after a stunning campaign so far.

Much of this can be down to the signing the manager has brought into the club. Pau Torres has become one of the most reliable defenders in the league. Record-signing Moussa Diaby also provided a crucial assist for Lucas Digne’s winner on Saturday to beat Luton 3-2

However, on top of this, Emery has also looked to bring fresh upcoming talent into the club to help secure their long-term future. In January, Villa signed Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough who is full of potential.

Now, it seems as if Emery has found another potential signing for the future as he targets Man United wonderkid Bendito Mantato.

According to ontheminute.com, Aston Villa are looking to secure the services of Mantato. The 16-year-old is one of the most promising prospects in the country and has been in the Man United academy since he was nine years old.

Clips of the winger went viral last year where he was compared to Arsenal and England international Buyako Saka

His trickery and skill have seen him push all the way up to the Man United 18s team. Here, he became the star of the show in his breakthrough appearance for the side last month.

Now, Villa alongside Newcastle are reportedly interested in the future star with Mantato open to leaving the Red Devils if the right offer is on the table.

However, Man United would need a big fee to let the winger depart from the club.

Mantato would be a fantastic signing for Villa if they can get it over the line. It is clear that the winger has bundles of potential and could easily be a world-class player one day.

Emery is clearly looking to build a team for the future as well as the present. Many clubs have seen success but haven’t been able to hold onto it.

Leicester is a prime example. The Foxes were competing for Champions League football regularly only a few seasons ago, yet now find themselves in the Championship.

Emery is looking to ensure this doesn’t happen to Villa with the Mantato target helping to set the foundation for future success.
