Aston Villa have rejected a 15 million Euros bid (£12.9 million) offer from Inter for goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, according to Argentina journalist, Gaston Edul.

The 2023 Champions League finalists recently sold Andre Onana to Manchester United and now they are on the lookout for a new man between the sticks.

And it seems as though, they have pointed their finger straight towards the Midlands and for Emi Martinez, with Gaston Edul adding on Twitter that ‘they plan to make another higher proposal’ for the 30-year-old.

Other clubs showcasing interest in Villa’s star man isn’t a surprise. He has been outstanding since the day he was signed from Arsenal in 2020, including helping the team to a European finish last term.

But his stock went well and truly through the roof when he helped Argentina secure glory by winning the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In typical Martinez style, he became a villain to the opposition and a hero amongst his own, as TyC Sports reporter Edul dropped the following message about the Inter bid.

“Inter Milan (make an) offer for Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez and go for him,” wrote the Argentine-based journalist.

“Inter already offered 15 million euros and Aston Villa rejected. Now, they plan to make another higher proposal.

“For now, there is no agreement. There were already contacts with his environment. He is still in pre-season with Aston Villa.”

Silly offer, look elsewhere Inter…

To put less than £15 million down on the table for Martinez is pretty pathetic and laughable, to be honest.

Those in the Inter boardroom need to poke their heads out of the window, get some nice fresh air, before understanding and researching how Villa operate.

If they have to part ways with such a crucial member of their squad, just like Jack Grealish, he isn’t going to go cheap, and more than likely, he will go for a record-ish fee.

Whilst Martinez deserves to play in the Champions League, and Vila fans hope that he does it with them down the line, one thing supporters won’t lose sleep over is such insulting offers being put on the table because they know that there isn’t a soul inside Villa Park that would accept such bids.
