Aston Villa have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Nico Williams, as Spanish giants pull out of race for the winger.
Aston Villa have enjoyed a really strong start to the season under the management of Unai Emery. Sitting pretty in fifth place, it feels like an even better finish than last season is definitely possible.
The latest result of the season was undoubtedly the best, a 6-1 thrashing of their closest rivals Brighton to move above them in the table.
Villa have improved drastically over the past year, and Emery isn’t thought to be done yet as he continues to plan improvements for the Villains.
One player who had been targeted over the summer, would be the perfect difference maker and improvement for Emery to bring in and now they’ve been handed a boost.

Villa boosted in Williams hunt
Aston Villa were chasing 21-year-old Nico Williams all summer as he is a player who could take them up another level.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, it is claimed that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are now “ready to end their interest” in the player.
With his contract to expire next summer, Villa could make a move to arrange a pre-contract deal with him to join after his contract runs out.
However despite this, it is believed that Athletic Bilbao aren’t keen on letting him leave for free with the chances said to be “slim and none”.
Talks are also said to have progressed considerably between the parties so if Villa want him, a big money deal will likely be the result.
