Aston Villa are working to welcome further new arrivals to the club before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Unai Emery and Monchi got to work fast this summer to ease Aston Villa’s PSR concerns, with plenty of movement happening at Bodymoor Heath early into the transfer window.

Now that the dust has settled slightly, it seems as though the Villans are ready to re-enter the market, with work to be done before deadline day.

Several targets have been identified as possible suitors for Emery’s project, with the club now said to have been offered one in-demand player.

Aston Villa have been offered the chance to sign Samu Omorodion

Throughout the summer, Villa have been linked to Joao Felix however, it could be a different Atletico Madrid forward that Emery now signs.

Villa’s chances of signing the 24-year-old are now slim as Chelsea have emerged as an interested party, which has led to the Midlands club having to look elsewhere.

Monchi’s search may not need to leave Madrid, as journalist Ben Jacobs has now reported that Villa have been offered the chance to sign Samu Omorodion.

Jacobs took to X to relay that after Omorodion’s proposed move to Chelsea fell through, the striker is “being offered” to a number of clubs, one of which being Villa.

That being said, the journalist added that among the clubs that have been offered the player, Bournemouth and Villa “haven’t initiated the contact and aren’t currently working on a deal.”

After spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Alaves, the 20-year-old has returned to his parent club whom he will rejoin shortly, after winning gold at the Paris Olympic Games.

Omorodion could be a smart signing for Unai Emery

Still only 20-years-old, a move to Villa could be positive for Omorodion, who is a player whose profile could blossom under Emery’s guidance.

The forward impressed last season in LaLiga, where his statistics placed him as a player comparable to Premier League marksman Dominic Solanke, via FBref

Last term, Solanke netted 19 goals in the English top flight, reinforcing at the promise that Omorodion has shown over the past year in his senior career.

While it’s understood that Villa aren’t currently eyeing a move for the Spaniard, exploring conditions over a possible deal could be smart from Monchi, as the Midlands club are in need of a new striker.

Should Jhon Duran leave this summer, Villa will have just Ollie Watkins and Cameron Archer available to play at centre-forward through the 2024/25 campaign.

Being offered the chance to sign an encouraging number nine could be a dream scenario for Monchi and Emery although, it is yet to be decided whether Omorodion is that man.
