Aston Villa have been linked to Leicester City star, Wilfred Ndidi as his contract is set to expire in the summer.

Once again, Aston Villa have been linked to signing a Leicester City midfielder on a free transfer once again.

Last summer, Unai Emery signed Youri Tielemans on a free transfer following his contract expiry at the King Power.

Now the Villains have been linked to defensive midfield stalwart, Wilfred Ndidi whose contract is out this coming summer.

With that being said, a move to B6 in January could be on the cards.

Should Aston Villa sign Wilfred Ndidi?

Anyone who has watched the Premier League over the past few seasons will know all about how good Ndidi is.

Despite having an off-season last time around, he has rediscovered some form in the Championship this season.

Under Enzo Maresca the Foxes have lost just two games and the Nigerian has become an important player once again.

So with him being linked to Villa by TEAMtalk, the question is do they really need him?

With the standard of the Villains’ midfield over the past year, it is unclear where Ndidi would fit into the first team.

With links seeing Leander Dendoncker rumoured away from the club, defensive midfield cover would be needed.

Ndidi is a great player there is no doubt about that and after Tielemans, there is a pathway for Leicester players to join Villa.

The question will be whether or not he wants to move and play second choice, like his former teammate.

With that being said, Villa are up there challenging for Champions League football this season. This will make Villa Park an even more attractive prospect.

Great on the ball and is an excellent destroyer which could see Villa’s squad options improve by a decent margin.

He is also linked to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United where he may be guaranteed more game time.

It is an optimistic signing, but with Villa looking to get better and better, Ndidi could be great.
