Aston Villa hero Anwar El Ghazi could be returning to the Premier League stage after shock Manchester United rumours emerged.

After helping Aston Villa to promotion and spending three years at the club, Anwar El Ghazi left the Midlands giants in 2022.

The 28-year-old then returned to his homeland and joined PSV Eindhoven, who at the time, were managed by Premier League great, Ruud van Nistelrooy.

But after becoming a free transfer this summer, it has now been suggested that Manchester United could snap up El Ghazi’s talents for nothing, according to The Daily Mail

Erik ten Hag has a lot on his plate at Old Trafford, with Antony having off-field issues and being handed a leave of absence, whilst Jadon Sancho was publicly criticised by his manager.

It has left the Champions League club in a spot of bother, hence why they could push to sign El Ghazi, with the winger watching Manchester United’s defeat to Arsenal before the international break.

Either way, if El Ghazi is signed up by Man United, then our Boxing Day trip to Old Trafford could be an interesting one.

El Ghazi is a Villa hero

Those performances in the Championship, that opening goal in the play-off final against Derby County and those ice-cool penalties in the Premier League.

El Ghazi is a Villa hero for what he did, mainly under Dean Smith, and if he returns to Villa Park as an opposition player, then he will get a standing ovation.

But it’s amazing that Man United, who are in the Champions League, are pushing for a player who wasn’t deemed good enough for Villa in 2022.

Saying that, if he does end up playing against Villa this season, then you can just see him putting the ball into the top bins at Old Trafford or Villa Park.
