Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer, but is settled at the club and will not force his way out.
The 29-year-old has fallen behind January signing Alex Moreno in the pecking order, starting just two league games since his arrival, and given that he arrived for £25m on a high salary, he could be shown the exit door this summer.
However, the former Everton defender is reportedly happy at the club, and now looks unlikely to force his way out in search of playing time elsewhere.
A report from Birmingham Mail has revealed that he is settled at the club, despite talk of a move away, and may still be considered important by Unai Emery.
Should Aston Villa sell Digne?
Despite hardly starting in recent months, Digne still made a lot of appearances off the bench, and he could play a crucial squad role under Emery.
At Villarreal, Emery would regularly substitute and rotate his left-back options, having had Pervis Estupinan, Alfonso Pedraza and Alberto Moreno all featuring regularly in the position, and Digne could still feature heavily despite the presence of Moreno at Villa.

However, if Villa were to receive an offer close to the £25m they paid for him, they should consider it. Digne’s value has fallen since his arrival, as despite arriving to a lot of fanfare, his performances have been inconsistent throughout his time at the club, and given his age and salary, he could free up a lot of room in the Villa squad for an alternate option.
Villa qualifying for the Conference League means that they may need to operate with a larger squad, which could put extra emphasis on rotation, and Digne brings a lot of experience to the squad, which could make him particularly useful if Emery’s side reach the latter stages of the competition.
