Aston Villa midfielder, Youri Tielemans has put to bed any rumours that he is unsettled at the club despite an interview earlier in the season.

Youri Tielemans signed for Aston Villa on a free transfer over the summer as he departed Leicester City as his contract expired.

Despite an impressive preseason, Unai Emery has continued to opt for Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara in midfield.

This decision had been questioned by the Belgian while on international duty, earlier on in the season.

Following a great performance against AZ Alkmaar, fans are starting to warm to the former Fox after an icy start.

What has Youri Tielemans said?

Back in early September, we reported that Tielemans was in an ‘unpleasant situation‘ at Villa Park.

With that being said, he appears to have now gone full circle as he urges his national fans to get behind the Villans.

Speaking with Voetbal Nieuws, Tielemans said: “I feel good and I don’t understand why people in Belgium are concerned about me.”

This is good to hear from a player who some fans were concerned over to begin the season.

Since making the move across the Midlands, Tielemans has featured in just 191 Premier League minutes across 11 games. Averaging just 17 minutes per game in that time with no starts as of yet.

His performance in the Europa Conference League was top-class and fans have been calling for him to start since that.

On his lack of minutes, he added: “I obviously want to play and show myself and help the team. It was hard to understand at first, but now I’m ready to fire when I get my chance.

“There is no reason to panic or be frustrated.”

A great mindset has been adopted by the midfielder who is looking to earn his place in the starting XI.

Villa fans are hopeful that they can see the Tielemans that everyone became accustomed to while he was at Leicester. It looks like that player may be hitting B6 soon.
