Ahead of Aston Villa’s clash against Legia Warsaw, there are some injury concerns for Unai Emery to contend with.

This week, Aston Villa can confirm their spot in the next round of the Europa Conference League with at least a point.

Should Unai Emery’s side secure a win or draw they will be up to 10 or 12 points, putting them out of sight of Zrinjski and AZ Alkmaar.

With that being said, the Villans struggled last time out against Legia and a loss would likely see the Poles take top spot.

As a result, the squad selection for the return tie at Villa Park will need to be strong to come away with a positive result. With that being said, there are four players that Emery will likely be without come Thursday night.

Aston Villa injury report vs Legia Warsaw

Well as all Villa fans know by now Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings are set to be out for many months. Birmingham World provided an update on this, saying: “Emiliano Buendia and central defender Tyrone Mings are still a very long way off recovering. Both from their respective anterior cruciate ligament injuries.”

It is safe to say that the Villa faithful aren’t expecting to see them until potentially even next season. Hopefully, they can return to the pitch by the end of this season but the club have been very quiet on that front.

The man who was brought in on loan to replace Buendia was Nicolo Zaniolo. The Italian has had a difficult start to life in B6 and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any easier.

The man on loan from Galatasaray was missing from the squad that secured a record-breaking win over Tottenham. It looks like he will be missing from this one too. It has been said that: “The Italian, who picked up a knock on international duty remains a doubt for this one.”

The injury final concern for Emery to deal with is fringe player, Bertrand Traore who has made very few cameos this season. Last campaign he came through with very important goals against Nottingham Foresta and Leicester. This time around he hasn’t been given a sniff.

Despite this, he was still called up to Burkina Faso international duty where he appears to have suffered an injury. On that: “Traore hasn’t been involved recently due to some muscular tightness.”

There are players to cover these stars so they shouldn’t be missed too much. Although Emery would prefer to have a full squad with no injury concerns where possible.
