Unai Emery has been discussing Aston Villa’s plans for the remainder of the transfer window as an exciting verdict emerges.
Emery can be proud of the business he’s conducted at Aston Villa this summer, with several quality players arriving through the door.
Whilst it was frustrating to see Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby sold, as their hands were tied with PSR regulations, the Spaniard has still improved multiple areas of his squad.
The Villans have strengthened their options in central midfield, at left-back and on the flanks with a new centre-back, striker and replacement for Luiz arguably needed before the window slams shut.

Unai Emery outlines Aston Villa transfer plans
Judging by the rumours circulating Villa Park, Monchi and Emery will be active in the closing weeks of the summer transfer window.
Villa are said to be in advanced talks to sign Feyenoord right-back Lutsharel Geertruida while there is still hope that a deal for Joao Felix can be struck, despite him preferring Chelsea as his next destination.
For Villa, signing a new centre-back and rival striker for Ollie Watkins could be game-changing as they prepare to take on West Ham United this Sunday.
Ahead of the fixture, the Villans’ form in pre-season has been far from ideal, losing three of their last four matches against Columbus Crew, Club America and Borussia Dortmund.
However, speaking on talkSPORT, Emery has delivered an exciting verdict on Villa’s transfer business, with more players expected to join before the deadline.
“I want to be competitive; every day, every transfer window and of the season,” Emery said.
“And now we are trying to be competitive as well, trying to add players in our squad and improve it. There are still days to do something. At the beginning, we need some players to leave from us in the next few weeks because we have a squad of 25 players.”

Where Aston Villa still need to strengthen
Emery accepts that players must leave before the window closes, including centre-back Diego Carlos and strikers Jhon Duran and Cameron Archer.
In the meantime, it appears Villa are sourcing replacements for their departures as defender Geertruida is one of their top targets due to his ability to play as a right-back or centre-back.
Of course, Emery has also expressed his desire to sign Felix from Atletico Madrid, but as he now wants to join Chelsea, another striker needs eyeing up.
The Birmingham outfit arguably need a midfield enforcer, too, as without Boubacar Kamara in the side, they’ve struggled to win the ball back and concede a lot more goals.
A busy transfer window so far promises to have a chaotic conclusion as the Villa boss aims to complete a successful summer of business, the sort that could inspire a long run in the Champions League.
