Aston Villa’s side claimed their first pre-season win over Fulham in Orlando, with new Villains among those impressing.
Villa claimed a 2-0 win over Premier League rivals Fulham in the Summer Series friendly at the Exoloria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The deadlock was broken for Villa late in the first half by Jaden Philogene, with the highly rated youngster staking his claim.
The lead was doubled in the second hand by Villa new boy, Moussa Diaby who raced through on goal before giving Marek Rodak no chance with his finish.
Here are three things learned…

Tielemans immense
Villa’s new midfield general, Youri Tielemans was very impressive against Fulham last night.
His performance was so impressive that it warranted man-of-the-match award win, for his excellence at the heart of Villa’s midfield.
He was a step ahead of the Cottagers at every turn, as they couldn’t get close to him.
Thus making his free transfer from Leicester seem to be a bargain already.
Diaby instant impact
Diaby scoring on his debut was in the script to instant silence rival fans who questioned the money spent on him.
He barely involved in the game before the goal, but showed the quality of a true goalscorer as he scored with his first chance.
Clinical when it mattered, Diaby also injected speed and directness into the Villa attack.
Early signs suggest he is going to be a hit
Strong defensive display
Diego Carlos started his second game last season and was immense already, he lined up with Spanish defender Pau Torres and the two complimented each other expertly.
Having also played the second half against Newcastle together our centre-backs are yet to concede when playing together.
Carlos has started well following an injury ridden season last year, grasping his opportunity and staking his claim to be Torres’ partner.
