Aston Villa are reportedly amongst the clubs interested in signing young Spanish defender Marc Pubill.

The 20-year-old Levante right-back has been attracting interest from across Europe this summer but it is now reported that Villa are ‘in talks’.

This is according to Cope Valencia, who have claimed that Villa are the most recent side to demonstrate an interest in Pubill, with Sevilla and Real Betis also interested.

Pubill has three years left on his current contract at Levante who have put a €6million (£5m) price tag onto the youngster.

The report has also claimed that the next few hours will be “decisive” if Villa are to submit a formal offer to the Spanish club.

The fee demanded, is a fee that Levante won’t deviate from and have insisted they won’t sell players below their value.

Who is Pubill?

Pubill is an impressive defender and is also solid on the ball, with his performances in La Liga 2 attracting the interest.

Offers are said to be expected from both England and Spain for the in demand defender.

Breaking through into the first XI at the age of 18, and has since then made 42 appearances.

Pubill is also a Spanish Under-19 international, with two appearances for the side since his debut in 2021.

Last season in La Liga 2 Pubill also contributed a goal in his 24 games as he became an established first-teamer.

While it is unlikely Pubill will instantly overtake Matty Cash and gain a starting role at Villa, he is a player for the long term and could be a really smart signings, especially at that cheap price.
