The new 2023/24 Premier League season is at its starting point, with Aston Villa announcing their new home kit on Thursday afternoon.

There is a new sponsor on the front of Aston Villa’s shirt. In previous years, it has been British car retailer ‘Cazoo’, but it has now been switched to the controversial gambling firm, BK8.

On Wednesday, Aston Villa announced on Twitter that they have agreed to ‘a multi-year partnership’ with BK8, and now, we have the likes of Ollie Watkins, John McGinn and Boubacar Kamara modelling the new kit, added with the new sponsor on the front.

New home kit, return to Europe

There is a change in style, in regards to the shoulders of the new kit, with a strip of blue being showcased, instead of Claret that was there last season.

Added to that, throughout the front and back of the shirt, there are these shades of white up and down the shirt, like someone has lightly used a paintbrush to put it on.

There is certainly a difference in style, in comparison to last season, but whether the fans still like the new design is a different story altogether.

The new betting sponsor that is going to be used for the next few years hasn’t sat down with the fans and that’s a negative with this new kit launch.

In terms of the design, there has, so far, been a mild reaction from the Villa Park faithful, with many in the boat that it’s just a simple style that they aren’t overly excited about, or negative about.

In truth, with Villa returning to Europe next season, if Unai Emery can secure silverware and win the Conference League, or perhaps a domestic trophy, then this kit will definitely go into the legendary category.

At the end of the day, all that matters are the performances on the pitch, and with Emery bringing everyone together after such a strong finish last term, then there is real excitement for what is ahead.

A top-seven finish in the Premier League will be the aim and possibly winning the Europa Conference League.
