Opinion: Aston Villa should go all-out to sign ‘brilliant’ winger in January

Aston Villa were linked with a move for Jadon Sancho during the summer, and a deal could now be easier to complete.

Unai Emery was said to be keen on Sancho as a potential upgrade on Leon Bailey.

Bailey has had a solid start to the season however is known to be inconsistent which could have left Emery looking elsewhere.

That could mean that Manchester United’s ‘brilliant‘ £73 million man is the one who could make that jump.

Sancho was believed to be for sale at the correct price during the summer, but recent developments have seen him now potentially available for cut price or on loan.

This could see Emery and Villa make a swoop for the unsettled winger at Old Trafford.

Here is why we think Villa need to snap him up…

Sancho to Villa makes sense

In the summer, the rumours seemed far fetched with the England international on big money and United said to be asking for a big fee.

However with Sancho and Erik ten Hag now fallen out publicly and seemingly no way out, a move seems more plausible.

Sancho despite struggling at United, is a world-class player who is still so young.

Therefore it would make sense for Villa to do everything they can to get this deal done.

Sancho thrives being the main man in the team, something Villa would allow him to be, while also playing a style that he would be suited to.

Sancho playing anywhere along the front line or even in an advanced midfield position would be amazing.

He therefore either permanently or on-loan then permanently, he needs to be rescued from Old Trafford before his career sinks too far.
