Aston Villa are working hard to tie their most talented players down to long-term deals and attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers is the latest.
There is lots to be excited about at Aston Villa, as while they’re winless in five matches, plenty of work has gone in off the field to ensure their best players are being kept.
World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emi Martinez signed a new long-term contract in the summer, keeping him at Villa Park till 2029 while promising striker Jhon Duran put pen to paper on a new six-year deal in October.
Duran was rewarded for his excellent start to the season after scoring eight goals in all competitions, with the 20-year-old netting five of those from the substitutes bench.
Now, Morgan Rogers has become the latest player to commit his long-term future to Unai Emery’s project.

Morgan Rogers handed new long-term contract at Aston Villa
Since being captured from Middlesbrough in January 2024, Rogers has gone from strength to strength in a Villa shirt and become one of Emery’s most important players.
The 22-year-old has produced six goal involvements in 15 appearances this term while Rogers most recently earned his first England call-up after starring in the Premier League and Champions League.
Rogers has previously been dubbed ‘unplayable’ by Jamie Redknapp and is regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting talents.
Villa knew they had to tie him down to a long-term deal, doing so on Tuesday morning after confirming a new six-year contract for the Englishman.
It’s a lucrative deal that runs till the summer of 2030, with The Athletic revealing how the club wanted to bring Rogers salary in line with his Aston Villa teammates.

Aston Villa fans react after Rogers signs new contract
Villa fans were understandably left delighted after Rogers became the latest important asset the club tied down.
One supporter said: “YESSSSSSSSSSSSS,” while another responded: “Exciting news for the team!”
A third replied: “What a player.”
“Fully deserved,” a fifth said while another replied: “YESSSSSS MORGZ.”
One fan even urged the club to follow suit with young striker Rory Wilson, who is currently in dispute over a new contract.
“Now do the same with Rory Wilson, need to keep our young stars.”
Rogers has made an excellent start to the season and hopefully, this news will only motivate him to achieve greatness.
