Former Aston Villa manager, Martin O’Neil has opened up about current manager, Unai Emery prior to the clash vs Manchester City.
It has been a great season for Aston Villa so far and with a big run of fixtures coming up they need to be on top of their game.
The Villans have been superb under the guidance of Unai Emery who has taken the club from 17th to fourth in no time.
With just three losses this season, Villa have been one of the most consistent sides in the Premier League this campaign.
On top of this has been their superb home form as they are yet to do anything but win at Villa Park, since February this year. Now they welcome treble winners, Manchester City, to B6 as they look to keep their superb run going.
This form has seen many people sit up and take notice, including former managers including Dean Smith and now another has…

What has Martin O’Neil said about Unai Emery?
The last time the Villans were so successful was under Martin O’Neil where Champions League was often on the agenda. Although it was never achieved in the end, fans still look back fondly on his spell with the club.
In a recent interview with FourFourTwo, O’Neil has spoken out about Emery and the form that Villa have shown this season.
On that, the Irishman said: “Expectation is rising by the week, which is obviously a good thing,”
“It’s a nice thing now for Villa fans to reach out and think that they’ve got a chance again because it’s been a difficult decade for them.”
It is safe to say it has been a difficult stint in claret and blue. With relegation battles, actual relegation and failed promotion bids, there have been some tough times. Now the Villans have come through that and under Emery, the good times are rolling back to B6.
On the manager, O’Neil said: “They’ve a really good manager in charge, and I think he will keep them going. I didn’t need Emery to do all of the things he’s doing at Villa to be impressed with him. His record is excellent, really excellent.”
With all the things that Emery has won, the achievements he has already made with Villa are up there. It is clear that his peers are impressed with the job he has been doing.
The potential that wins over Manchester City and Arsenal could see this week out is amazing. Villa have gone from strength to strength and now these dreams could become reality.
