Aston Villa could be set to welcome Alex Moreno back to selection as he posts a hint on his social media.

Alex Moreno has been injured since May according to Transfermarkt, which has seen him miss 18 games.

However, that spell on the sidelines seems to be coming to an end now with a hint on his social media.

Moreno will be keen to return and prove himself a valuable player for Unai Emery to have in his squad.

This can be seen clearly from his excited Instagram post which suggests he is very close to being ready to play.

Moreno sends a message

Posting on his Instagram story, Moreno was pictured on the training pitch which is good news for Villa.

“Last steps” he wrote, which clearly suggests that he is closing in on a return, we imagine it’ll be a matter of weeks before we see him back on the pitch, it was then followed by “run run”.

Moreno’s return will be good news for one man in particular who will have heavy burden lifted.

Good news for Digne

One man who will be delighted with Moreno returning will be Lucas Digne who has had to play pretty much every game due to no other options.

This should allow Emery to give Digne some rest which should benefit him in the long run with a long way to go this season.

This likely means Moreno will be lining up at left-back for the upcoming Europa Conference League games, assuming he is fit.

Some much-needed defensive reinforcements at a pivotal time in the season for Villa, with such important games coming thick and fast.
