Jurgen Klopp says Aston Villa are ‘strong like crazy’ following Liverpool’s dramatic 2-1 win at Newcastle United on Sunday at St James’ Park.
It was one of the more eventful games Liverpool will be involved in, which included a red card for Virgil van Dijk, he will now miss the visit of Aston Villa next Sunday.
Despite playing with ten men for most of the game, Liverpool came from a goal down to score two late goals, including a stoppage-time winner from Darwin Nunez, with Jurgen Klopp calling it ‘super special’.
But the Liverpool boss was quick to turn his attention to Unai Emery’s Villa side and how ‘we have to be ready again’, as he told Sky Sports.
Before the Reds could kick off at St James’ Park, Villa secured a deserved 3-1 win at Burnley, with the Midlands side showcasing precision, a ruthless nature and devastating speed on the counter – Emery lauded Matty Cash, who netted a brace at Turf Moor.
It’s what will come Liverpool’s way at Anfield because Villa will be going for the win, as Klopp shared his thoughts on that fixture.

“That means something, it’s super special,” said Klopp on the dramatic win over Newcastle.
“Next week, it’s Aston Villa. They are strong like crazy, so we have to be ready again.”

Form starting to pick up
After that drubbing at St James’ Park, the team is now performing like we all thought they were going to do at the start of the season.
In truth, put aside that Newcastle result, and it’s a case of the team picking up from where they left off when Emery first came into the club.
But before that game on Merseyside can come about, it’s a case of dealing with that second-leg clash against Hibernian, who have since sacked Lee Johnson.
Of course, we are through after that 5-0 drubbing at Easter Road, it’s just a case of, can we get into double figures on aggregate because, in this form, there is every chance that will happen.
