Former Liverpool man, Jamie Carragher believes that Aston Villa have overperformed this season and at some point, the form will drop.
This season, Aston Villa have been one of the outstanding teams in the Premier League and finds themselves in fifth place.
Under Unai Emery, the Villains have gone from strength to strength. Achieving Conference League qualification last season and are in search of Champions League this campaign.
Villa are unbeaten at Villa Park since February and they have only lost four times on the road in that time.
The evolution of the Villains under Emery has been quite spectacular, to say the least.

What has Jamie Carragher said?
In spite of all these positives, former Liverpool man and current Sky Sports pundit, Carragher believes Villa are outdoing their means.
On that point, he said: “Since Unai Emery came in, they’ve outperformed themselves – and that might come from the manager and the belief he has given them.
“Ollie Watkins had a chance and missed and he said that would have affected him in the past, but then he finished late on. That is not just Ollie Watkins, that is also down to the manager.”

It is safe to say that Emery has had a positive effect on almost every player he has set his eyes on during his time at B6.
This is no ‘new manager bounce’ however. Emery has been in charge of 31 games and has picked up 62 points.
Averaging two points per game over the course of a season would be enough to finish third twice and second in the past three seasons.
Carragher believes one factor will have an effect on Villa maintaining form: “The one big thing that gives me belief that Aston Villa can stay in their position is Unai Emery.”
The Villains’ form has been nothing short of spectacular since the Spaniard came in from Villarreal.
He is by far the best manager that most Villa fans will have seen and if he can achieve Champions League football, he will secure his place as a legend.
