‘He’s so annoyed’: David Seaman says one Villa star wasn’t happy despite 6-1 win

David Seaman has explained that he saw Ollie Watkins looking annoyed during Aston Villa’s dominant win over Brighton on Saturday.

Villa demolished Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton at the weekend with a 6-1 victory.

Unai Emery would have loved what he saw during this game as he established his side as one of the leagues best, moving above Brighton and into fifth.

Brighton couldn’t break down Villa, who then in response hit them on the counter to devastating effect.

Ollie Watkins grabbed a hat-trick in the game as he bullied the Brighton defence into submission, but despite this, David Seaman made a claim that the forward looked annoyed.

Seaman on Watkins

Talking about the match, on the Seaman Says Podcast, Arsenal legend Seaman said: “[Ollie] Watkins was very happy with his hat-trick!

“Did you see when he went through for the I think it was either the fifth or the sixth goal, where he shot and the goalkeeper saved it and then the guy came up and put the rebound in?

“If you watch Ollie Watkins, he hits the ground because he’s so annoyed that he didn’t get four! It’s so funny.

“I was like, hang on mate, your teams just scored but he’s more disappointed that he didn’t finish his chance.”

A bizzarre thing to think Watkins could’ve been annoyed considering how impressive he and his team performed against a seriously good side.

But it is potentially a good sign that he demands high standards which are befitting of Villa’s new role in the table.
