Former Manchester United man and pundit, Gary Neville has opened up about Aston Villa, Unai Emery and their season so far.
It has been a great start to the season so far for Aston Villa which sees them currently sit in third place in the Premier League.
Following wins over Manchester City and Arsenal in the past week, Unai Emery has seen even more praise come his way.
Since coming through the doors at Villa Park, everything has gone as well as anyone could have hoped it would. From qualifying for the Europa Conference League to a record-breaking run of wins, he has achieved a lot in a short time.

After the wins in the past week, conversations about a potential title race have arisen. Former Villa boss Dean Smith wasn’t having it just yet but who knows what could happen?
What has Gary Neville said?
Although some aren’t sure about Villa’s title chances, there is no lack of praise for Emery and the work he has done.
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former Manchester United man has piled additional praise on the Spaniard.
Although there were high expectations coming into the season, not many would have predicted this start to the campaign.
On that, Neville said: “I had them fifth at the start of the season. I thought Unai Emery would do something really good with them. I’ve got so much respect for him as a coach, I learned a lot about him when I was over in Valencia.”
Coming into the club, Villa fans were undoubtedly very excited about his appointment. With that being said there were some reservations from those outside the club following his spell with Arsenal.
Discussing the Villa boss further, Neville said: “He’s got such an outstanding CV, people obviously remember the time it was difficult for him at Arsenal but he’s a brilliant coach.
“What they’re doing I don’t think is just a moment. It will be difficult to sustain in the long term because of the lack of spending compared to the other clubs. I think what we’re seeing at this moment in time is here to stay.”
It is safe to say that the pundit had high hopes for Villa coming into the season and those have been justified. With the Villans sat in third and nearly half a season played their position now is true.
It has been a great season so far, there is no doubt about that. Long may Villa’s form continue and fire them up the Premier League.
