Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa – England

Watkins was easily one of the standout players at Villa Park throughout the 2023/24 campaign. His 27 goals in all competitions were fundamental to the side’s success which eventually led to the qualify for the Champions League.

On top of this, Konsa was also a highlight with the defender earning the praise of plenty of pundits for his performances.

Thanks to their consistent form, the duo were both rewarded with a spot on the plane to Germany despite the latter only making his Three Lions debut in March 2024. The pair will now both be hoping to make a big impact on the tournament and bring home the trophy

Youri Tielemans – Belgium

Elsewhere, Tielemans will be hoping to finally end Belgium’s curse by lifting their first major trophy this tournament. The Lowland nation last reached the final in 1980 after they lost to West Germany.

During the 2023/24 campaign, Tielemans enjoyed a fruitful second half of the season where he really stepped up his game at Villa Park.

Going into the summer, he will believe there is every chance that the nation could lift the trophy by the end of the competition.

John McGinn – Scotland

Scotland have made it to their second consecutive European Championships after an impressive qualifying campaign. McGinn was central to this success and has been highly impressive for the Tartan Army.

The Aston Villa captain has now accumulated a total of 66 caps for Scotland where he has managed to find the net 18 times.

With the midfielder on the back of one of his best seasons in Claret and Blue, he will be backing himself to continue this form and help his country reach the knockout stages. However, their task will be a tough one, starting with the opening match against hosts Germany in group A.
