Aston Villa winger Bertrand Traore has terminated his contract with the club to join Villarreal on a free transfer.
It’s been a successful deadline day for Aston Villa.
Morgan Rogers was finally announced as the club’s new signing while Lino Sousa joined permanently from Arsenal, and will spend the rest of the season on loan at Plymouth Argyle.
Unai Emery has set his stall out to sign talented youngsters who can develop into future stars as Villa continue to act as a forward-thinking institution.
Their improved recruitment, having enjoyed a successful summer too, is a mark of their progress as a club and that is also demonstrated by their willingness to let some of their fringe players leave.
Bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers were the two expected to depart on deadline day and the former has seemingly had his wish granted.

Bertrand Traore terminates Aston Villa contract terminated and will join Villarreal
Although it hasn’t been officially reported by the club, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Traore has terminated his contract at Villa Park and will join Villarreal on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old has rarely featured under Emery this term, making just six appearances across all competitions.
He’s rapidly fallen down the pecking order since the Spaniard tookover as the likes of Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey are both preferred ahead of him.
And in Villa’s quest to qualify for the Champions League, he wasn’t seen as someone who could make a difference and has therefore felt he has no other choice but to move on.
Traore has spent four years at Villa since arriving for £19m in 2020 and hasn’t lived up to expectations.
If the reports are true, he will depart the club after scoring 10 goals and supplying eight assists in 62 matches and will be missed by some sections of the fanbase.
