Aston Villa are a well oiled machine, so attention has probably turned to next summer already, here are five free transfers that could be done.
Unai Emery has got Villa in a good place right now, with a really strong start to the 2023/24 campaign.
Despite the strong start, injuries have piled up and left Emery running on scraps.
Therefore it is likely that Villa are already considering potential additions they could make in the next few months and also in the summer.
So with that thinking, here are five players who will be out of contract, that we see as perfect options for Villa to sign for free.

Nico Williams
Nico Williams is first on our list due to the prior interest of Villa in the summer and also last January,
Moussa Diaby was signed instead, however the opportunity to sign such a highly regarded talent for free could be too good to turn down.
Williams would be a real statement for Villa with clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona also credited with interest in recent years.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Villa are in need of a player to offer Matty Cash competition and to rotate the right-back position.
That’s where Aaron Wan-Bissaka comes in, as he could offer a defensive side which Cash doesn’t possess.
Wan-Bissaka is hugely experienced in the Premier League, however it may be unlikely that he is allowed to leave for free with an optional extension available to United.
Anthony Martial
Villa sold two strikers during the summer but didn’t bring any in, this has resulted in an over reliance on Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran, with the jury still out on the latter.
This could be the opening Anthony Martial needs to join a club where he could thrive.
There’s no denying his talents and when on form is among the best, a good challenge for Emery to get him to that level.
Keylor Navas
The former Champions League winner impressed in his brief spell at Nottingham Forest last season.
Keylor Navas likely therefore finds himself high on the list of Emery, especially with goalkeeping struggles this season which has seen just two clean sheets.
Navas is also a good fit stylistically which could see yet another evolution of Emery’s game.
Lloyd Kelly
Bournemouth’s star man is defender Lloyd Kelly and he will be one keen on a move unless Bournemouth’s fortunes change.
Linked to Liverpool last summer his quality is there to see and a step-up is expected.
As Bournemouth look bound for relegation, we expect he will be on the move sooner than later, can Villa win the race?
