Aston Villa are flying under Unai Emery, and it should be no surprise to see the Spaniard linked to some of Europe’s biggest jobs.
Bayern Munich have announced Thomas Tuchel is set to depart at the end of the season, one year before the expiration of his current contract.
The German giants face the stark reality of missing out on silverware this season, with Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen closing in on the Bundesliga title.
Unsurprisingly, Emery’s name has emerged as a potential successor.
Per Kicker’s Georg Holzner (via his personal X account), the Spaniard is admired in Bavaria.
However, The Guardian’s transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, has weighed in on Emery’s future.
Fabrizio Romano shares Unai Emery to Bayern Munich latest

In his latest Daily Briefing for Caughtoffside, the Italian claims the 52-year-old is 100 per cent committed to Aston Villa.
“Some reports have suggested that Unai Emery could be considered as the next Bayern Munich boss,” he said.
“This would mean leaving Aston Villa managerless after two seasons in charge of the Premier League club.
“Honestly, I’ve zero on this at the moment, Bayern as well as Barça will be linked with many managers.
“I already saw many names around, but no decision has been made at all. Unai Emery is a fantastic manager.
“I think he has improved a lot in recent years, but he’s now 100% focused on the Aston Villa project, and he’s not speaking to other clubs right now.”
Excellent news for Aston Villa
When it comes to the inside workings of the footballing sphere, what Romano says, usually goes.
If he’s completely unaware of reports linking Emery to Bayern, then it’s improbable the Spaniard will be leaving anytime soon.
He’s building something special in the West Midlands and is loved by the fanbase. Furthermore, it’s fair to say the Allianz Arena job isn’t the most secure in Europe.
Villa fans can rest easy now, particularly after Romano’s latest update.
