Former Aston Villa star, Darren Bent has opened up about his Premier League signing of the season and has put forward Pau Torres.
It has been a great season for Aston Villa who are currently sitting in the top four of the Premier League, at the time of writing.
The work Unai Emery has done in order to secure on-the-pitch results has been nothing short of superb this campaign.
The Villans have started this year as they finished last season as they confirmed Europa Conference League football.
Over the summer, plenty of good business was done which saw star names like Moussa Diaby and Youri Tielemans come in.
These have certainly made an impact both with their performances which have certainly benefitted the side overall.
With that being said another star signing, Pau Torres has now been singled out by Darren Bent for his impact.

With Torres being injured in the past few weeks, Villa fans have begun to realise just how important a player he is. Whether that be his passing out from the back or his defensive ability, he has been superb.
This week has seen former Villa record-signing Bent discuss his signing of the season on his TalkSport show.
He first discussed other Premier League options. On that, he said: “What [Palmer] he’s done this season has been fantastic. But listen, we forgot about James Maddison, van de Ven, centre-halve for Spurs, even Vicario, the goalkeeper, has been good.
“Szoboszlai, he was unbelievable for Liverpool. Kudus, West Ham, he would be my [signing of the season].”
These five or six players have been great so far this season and no one would begrudge these being named.
Continuing on, Bent added: “Someone who’s probably gone under the radar who people haven’t really spoken about, Pau Torres. He has been exceptional by the way.”
There is no doubt as to how good Torres has been for Villa so far this season. Whether he be alongside Diego Carlos or Ezri Konsa, he has formed a great partnership.
This has helped Emery fulfil his tactical vision further as playing out from the back has been made so much more effective. Just looking at some key moments this season, from his goal against Tottenham or him starting the move against Arsenal. Torres has had an impact.
It is safe to say that Villa fans would have suggested that the Spaniard is one of the best signings this season. Long may his great form continue moving forward.
