Former Aston Villa man, Micah Richards, has been talking up John McGinn and reminiscing on when he joined the club in 2018.
Richards joined Villa in 2015 and was named as captain by Tim Sherwood at the time.
Following 14 years at Manchester City, a move to Villa Park was his first and only permanent move way from his boyhood club.
Being relegated in his first season, the England international only went on to make two appearances in the Championship over three years.

As a result of seeing out his Villa contract, he was technically still at the club as they achieved promotion.
The promotion season saw top talents like John McGinn, Tammy Abraham and Tyrone Mings join the club.
What has Micah Richards said about John McGinn?
While talking on The Rest Is Football Podcast, Richards spoke about when McGinn joined the club from Hibernian.
On the Scotsman as a person, he said: “So John McGinn, we have a WhatsApp group so I’m in there and he’s daft as a brush.
“He has got the banter, he came down from Scotland and he was quite nervous within the dressing room because it was all about Jack Grealish at the time.”
As Villa fans all know, McGinn and Grealish got on like a house on fire and this might have had an effect on his early form.

This saw Richards put a price on his head: “Him and Jack had a really good bond, who is in the group chat as well, and when I saw him play I said ‘he’s going to be worth £40 or £50 million.”
When discussing why he feels this way, he says: “He’s really good on the ball but he’s really strong and he can run all day.
“Literally when we did all the running tests he was at the front and I was at the back, and it was so easy for him.”
McGinn has had a great start to the season, building on last seasons form and long may it continue.
